Terms of Service

WildDex is a gamified wildlife collection and biodiversity platform. It allows users to photograph wild animals in nature, identify species using AI, earn rarity points, and participate in a global leaderboard and community sighting feed. WildDex is operated by WildDex Project.

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account and use WildDex.

By registering, you represent that (a) you are at least 13 years old, (b) all information you provide is accurate and current, and (c) you have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement.

• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
• You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
• You must notify us immediately at support@wilddex.app if you suspect unauthorised access.
• You may not create multiple accounts to circumvent anti-cheat measures or leaderboard rules.

You agree to use WildDex only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You must NOT:

• Submit sightings of animals in zoos, aquariums, captive facilities, or enclosures as wild sightings.
• Attempt to spoof, fake, or manipulate GPS coordinates in your sightings.
• Submit duplicate photos, stock images, AI-generated images, or images of dead or captive specimens to claim sighting points.
• Use automated bots, scripts, or tools to submit sightings or inflate scores.
• Harass, threaten, or abuse other WildDex community members.
• Post content that is illegal, defamatory, obscene, or infringing on third-party rights.
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to WildDex servers or systems.
• Reverse-engineer or extract the anti-cheat algorithms for purposes of circumventing them.

Violations of these rules may result in score penalties, temporary suspension, or permanent account termination at our sole discretion.

WildDex is built on the principle of Real Nature First. You agree to:

• Observe and photograph animals without disturbing, harassing, baiting, or harming them.
• Respect local wildlife protection laws and protected area regulations.
• Never trespass onto private property or restricted areas to capture a sighting.
• Follow Leave No Trace principles when in natural environments.

Reporting sightings of animals being harmed or illegally captured is encouraged. Contact support@wilddex.app if you witness wildlife violations related to platform activity.

When you submit photos, sightings, comments, or any other content to WildDex (“User Content”), you:

• Retain ownership of your photos and content.
• Grant WildDex a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive licence to host, store, display, and distribute your content on the WildDex platform and for promotional purposes related to wildlife conservation and the WildDex service.
• Confirm that you hold all rights to the content you submit and it does not infringe any third-party rights.
• Understand that your sightings (species, rarity, location, photo, username) are visible to other users on the Discovery Feed and Wildlife Map.

We reserve the right to remove User Content that violates these Terms, applicable law, or our anti-cheat rules, without prior notice.

All WildDex platform content — including the WildDex name, logo, design system, AI models, anti-cheat algorithms, rarity scoring system, and codebase — is the exclusive intellectual property of WildDex Project. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from WildDex platform IP without prior written permission.

Species data and IUCN conservation statuses are attributed to the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) Red List. WildDex does not claim ownership of species taxonomy or IUCN conservation assessments.

WildDex is provided “as is” and “as available.” We do not warrant uninterrupted or error-free operation. We may suspend or discontinue features at any time without notice for maintenance, security, or business reasons.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law:

• WildDex is not responsible for any injuries, property damage, or legal consequences arising from your outdoor wildlife activities.
• AI species identifications are provided for informational and gamification purposes and should not be relied upon for scientific, medical, legal, or conservation decision-making without expert verification.
• WildDex makes no warranties about the accuracy of species identifications, GPS coordinates, or conservation status classifications.
• Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms shall not exceed the total amount you have paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim (or USD $10 if you have paid nothing).

We may suspend or terminate your account at any time, with or without notice, for violation of these Terms or for any conduct we deem harmful to the WildDex community.

You may delete your account at any time from your account settings or by contacting support@wilddex.app. Upon deletion, your account data will be removed in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Cauayan City, Isabela, Republic of the Philippines. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of competent jurisdiction located in Isabela, Philippines.

We may revise these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated by updating the Effective Date above. Continued use of WildDex after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
